Community
At Lotus Amity community engagement that is environmentally sustainable is hugely important to us. Lotus Amity iscontributesat least 1% of annual revenue to charitable projects with a focus on the environment and human rights.
Past project we have supported include:
- Renewable World. The charity supports the provision of affordable renewable energy services to improve incomes, health and education in the developing world.
- Hattha Kaksekar Limited‘s green loan program. The program is designed to help improve living standards of poor and low-income people living in rural areas of Cambodia by giving them access to clean energy. Solar loans under this program allow poor families living off the grid to invest in solar home systems that can power lights, fans, radios, and mobile phones.
- Rainforest 4 Foundation and its acquisition of the Diwa lot 155 Cape Tribulation, in the Daintree Rainforest. A lowland tropical rainforest with Southern Cassowary and Bennetts Tree-kangaroo.
- Rosie Swale Pope in her 6,000 mile run from the UK to Kathmandu at age 74. Rosie raised money for PHASE and their wonderful work on improving the health, education and livelihoods of communities in Nepal.
- Climate Force and their 527 acre high-biodiverse, organic rainforest regeneration project including planing 360,000 native trees.
- Kiva and their work to expand financial access to help underserved communities with solar kits.
- Reforest Now and their project to regenerate rainforests through large-scale tree plantings.
